  • Track and Soccer registration is open on SNAP!  Soccer tryouts are February 24th and 26th and Track tryouts are March 17th
  • Make sure to turn in your Self Management Bingo Card to Mrs. Rorabaugh to win your prize!
  • Walking in Space: In 1995, Dr. Bernard Harris Jr. became the first African American to walk in space. He spent over 18 days in orbit and logged more than 4 million miles!
  • Staff Shoutout: Mr. Hirsch!   Mr. Hirsch is an incredible 7th-grade DI and Co-Taught ELA teacher who truly puts his heart into everything he does. His passion for helping students strengthen their reading skills shines through in every lesson, and his genuine care for each student makes a lasting impact. Whether he’s supporting learners in the classroom or providing homebound instruction across our district, Mr. Hirsch goes above and beyond to ensure every student feels valued, supported, and capable of success.

  • Come join our school track team and discover your athletic potential! Tryouts begin March 17th so get registered on SNAP and have your up to date sports physical on file.
  • Soccer season is kicking off soon!  We are looking for 7th and 8th grade students to join our coed soccer team.  Tryouts will be held February 24th and 26th.  Students must be registered on SNAP and have an up to date physical on file to try out.  See Mr. Gibbs for more information. 
  • Today is our Club and Activity Picture Day.  Be sure to come down to the gym at your designated time.  There will be no PA announcements.  The Picture Schedule should be posted in your classrooms.
  • Symphonic Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band have pictures up first! Please check in with 1st hour teachers and then head down to the north gym!

  • Black History Month Fact: Global Influence: Today is the birthday of Bob Marley (born 1945). He used Reggae music to spread messages of peace, unity, and African heritage to every corner of the globe.

  • The library’s Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month sticker contest is still going on!  All sticker entries are due tomorrow!
  • Today is the last day to purchase your tickets to tomorrow’s Valentine Dance!  No tickets will be sold at the door. 
  • Come join our school track team and discover your athletic potential! Tryouts begin March 17th so get registered on SNAP and have your up to date sports physical on file.

    The Traffic Light: In 1923, Garrett Morgan patented the first three-position traffic signal. Before his invention, lights only had "Stop" and "Go," which caused many accidents.

  • Stop by the library any time this week to participate in the Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month sticker contest! All sticker entries are due by February 6th!
  • The Student Council will be hosting a Valentine Dance this Friday, February 6th! Tickets will be on sale for $5 during all lunch periods today and tomorrow. No tickets will be sold at the door.
  • Are you interested in running short and long distances, jumping hurdles, over a bar, or even in the sand? Maybe you like to throw heavy objects. Come join our school track team and discover your athletic potential! Event try-outs will take place starting March 17 so sign up on SNAP and make sure you have a sports physical on file with Nurse Shafer. 
  • Peer Mediators will meet today.
  • Remember there is tutoring after school today.
  • The Anime & Manga Club is meeting in the library today during lunches.
  • Black History Month Fact of the Day: Happy Birthday, Rosa Parks! Born on this day in 1913, she is famous for the Montgomery Bus Boycott. However, she was a lifelong activist who worked for years behind the scenes for voting rights and justice.

  • Stop by the library any time this week to participate in a sticker contest! February is Teen Dating Violence awareness month and we would like for you to design a sticker about what love is to you. Use words or pictures to show what love is! All sticker entries are due by February 6th!

  • The first rehearsal for Junie B. Jones is today. Students should report to the cafeteria until 3pm. 
  • Congratulations to the 9 BC Band students that attended ONU Honor Band yesterday.  They had a full day of rehearsals and put on an extremely advanced concert last night.  They did a great job and we are so proud of them!  No BAND lessons today. Please head to your specials or choir lessons as scheduled. 
  • Black History Month Fact of the day: Madam C.J. Walker became the first black female self-made millionaire in America. She built a massive empire by creating hair care products and used her wealth to fund scholarships and civil rights.
